So What Happens Next After Being Charged with a DWI?DWI/DUI Defense in Fayetteville, NC

Serving Fayetteville, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Fort Bragg, and all of Cumberland County

Benefits of Retaining Me As Your Attorney

  • Waiver of Personal Appearance – In a typical case, I may be able to make most of your court appearances for you so that you will not have to miss work or school while your case progresses through the justice system.  In many instances, my clients only have to be in court for trial/disposition.

  • Reasonable Fees – My legal fees are competitive with other attorneys in Cumberland County.

  • Convenience – I can tailor a flexible payment plan to suit your needs within certain parameters.  Payments can be made in the form of cash, check, credit card or money order.

  • Personal Attention – I have a very “hands on” approach to client intake and case management.  I attempt to return all phone calls to me within 4 business hours.  You will also get my direct email address.

  • Peace of Mind – You can rest easy knowing that your case will get my personal attention and that I will aggressively represent your interests.

Because the long-term consequences of a conviction for Driving While Impaired (DWI), also known as Driving Under the Influence (DUI), are serious, you should NOT go this alone.  If you don’t retain me to represent you, you should hire some other capable attorney to represent you in court.

My DWI Intake Process typically consists of three steps:

  • Pre-Intake Interview – When you call me to discuss your case, I do an initial Pre-Intake Interview over the phone, which consists of getting your personal information, any previous convictions, the date of offense, and other pertinent information.  This step allows me to get a feel for your case, as well as legal issues that may need additional research prior to our Free In-Person Consultation.  This call usually lasts at least 15 minutes.

  • Case Research – If time permits, I will go to the courthouse to make copies of the court file, which will sometimes reveal serious flaws in the State’s case against you.  I will look into issues such as the breathalyzer test and results, the arresting officer’s affidavit, the probable cause for the stop, and any prior convictions or pending charges against you that may affect your case.

  • Free In-Person Consultation – At your free consultation, we will dive into the details of your case.  We will talk about the case’s strengths and weaknesses, possible defenses, and other legal issues and strategies that may come into play.  We will talk about what will happen if you are convicted of DWI and what those consequences may be for you.  Finally, we will discuss your options in moving forward with your case.  I will provide you with a straightforward and honest assessment of your case, so that you will be well equipped to decide which option is best for you.  This consultation usually lasts approximately one hour.
